We listened to what students like you craved – the convenience of online learning, instant feedback, and a sense of support and accountability – and we integrated all these into our platform.
At The Flute Collective, we have harnessed the power of technology to make learning the flute accessible for the busy student. Whether it’s through our self-paced courses or personalised private lessons, we’re committed to bringing the learning to you, right at the comfort of your home.
Over time, we’re proud to say we’ve helped more than 100 students in our online flute studio to master the art of flute playing. Our journey is one filled with shared dreams, music, and triumphs, and we’re excited to continue this journey with you.

About Christie
Our founder, Christie Gallen, is a mother of two and a flute player who returned to her instrument after more than a decade away. Busy with young children and study, she craved a more flexible approach to learning the flute. It was this desire that created The Flute Collective, an online platform that makes learning flute accessible for everyone.

Jane Cavanagh - The Flute Academy
Jane is a passionate flute teacher from Sydney, Australia, who has spent decades mastering the art of flute playing and teaching. After studying with world-class flutists in Paris and performing professionally for over 15 years, Jane discovered that small, smart changes in technique can unlock huge breakthroughs. She now shares these “golden nuggets” with students around the world through The Flute Academy—helping flutists progress faster and play with ease and confidence. The Flute Collective is thrilled to be collaborating with Jane, and grateful she is sharing her incredible knowledge and resources with us.
Monique Matthews - Monique's Music
Monique Matthews has been the resident flute teacher at The Flute Coach since 2019. Australia-based, she's worked as an instrumental and classroom music teacher, teaching all ages and ability levels. She has completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts in Flute Performance, a Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning. She loves playing Harry Potter, Disney and other popular film scores, and has a love for French Romantic music. She has a heart to connect people to music within community, and is active in many community-based musical groups.
